First Entry- Welcome to the El Gato II
Welcome to the El Gato Dos Charter Fishing blog site. Throughout the winter and more intensely during the fishing season we will be posting fishng reports and information on the boat.
The El Gato Dos is a 36' Hatteras Express owned by long time San Diego fishing legend, Donald Smoyer. Known around the docks as "Muggs", Don has been fishing the waters off the San Diego coast for over 30 years.
The El Gato is currently Captained by Bryan Zulka, who has more than 25 years of fishing knowledge of which 10 of those have been concentrated in the waters off San Diego. Travels has also taken Bryan in search of saltwater gamefish in Florida, Georgia, The Bahamas, Turks and Caicos Islands, Cabo San Lucas, and Puerto Vallarta.
With winter arriving we will be tackling many new projects on the El Gato and will update this site as we go along.
